A midcentury ceramic bowl by Fong Chow for Glidden in the Gulfstream series. The form is wheel-thrown with a broad, gently sloping profile. Its surface is decorated in concentric bands of glaze, combining tones of rust, slate gray, and muted turquoise with subtle ripple texture.
Fong Chow (1923–2012) served as chief designer at Glidden Pottery in the 1950s, known for his innovative glaze-on-glaze techniques and for works now held in the Brooklyn Museum’s collection.
In very good vintage condition; the listing notes no major chips or cracks.
